Thank you for obtaining a copy of TriPlot. We hope that we have
provided you with a significant research tool that eases the
burden of constructing and plotting trilinear diagrams. This
version of TriPlot is being released as "Freeware." TriPlot
grows out of our own needs as professional scientists. Please
relay any suggestions for improvements that you think would help
us make a better scientific tool so that we may be able to add
them to TriPlot.

This file contains important information--please read all of it.
All information here supersedes information in the help file.

I. Installation

1. Choose Run... from the Start button.
2. Type or select d:\path\trsetup403.exe where d:\path is the drive
letter and path of the directory that TriPlot was copied to. Press OK.
3. Follow the directions on the screen.
4. After installation is complete, locate the TriPlot menu item
in the menu that you selected.

The installation program creates a directory (of whatever name
you specified in the Install screen, the default is
C:\Program Files\Triplot\) and copies program files
into that directory. In addition, several .OCX and .DLL files
were copied into the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.

V. Known and unavoidable problems
1. PLotting of negative numbers does not always display properly,
depending on the axis the negative value is asigned.
2. Appearance of the legend needs work.

VI. Changes
The following is a list of changes for each version:

4.1.2 (30 July 2009)
1. Fixed: Bug during load where overlay file was being draw before
the form was fully loaded.
2. Fixed: Bug during file open that did not fill the spreadsheet
with data.
3. Removed need to register program.
4. Updated COM control to latest.

4.1.1 (23 August 2005)
1. Modified routine to copy to the Windows clipboard. A true
enhanced metafile is now placed on the clipboard. The metafile
can be ungrouped in programs like Powerpoint, Illustrator, Flash,
etc. and modified (thanks to Sean Pyne-O'Donnell) for pointing
out the problem).
2. Removed the ability to enter points by clicking on the triangle.
This function was too inaccurate and led to data synchronization
problems between the diagram and the spreadsheet.
3. A subset of the the points can be displayed by highlighting
the appropriate range in the spreadsheet.
4. Updated spreadsheet, tab, and propertlist controls. Updated to
Visual Studio 6 SP6.

4.1.0 (19 January 2004)
1. Program released as "Freeware."
2. Updated FarPoint spreadsheet (Spread) to current version.

4.0.3 (20 November 2003)
1. Changed triangle properties form to be an expandable list. This
property list will cause some relearning and may produce some problems
with registry entries, but should eliminate confusion over which
property you are changing.
2. Corrected bug that did not set the column label correctly in the data
spreadsheet when the axis title was changed on the properties tab (thanks
T.P. Wagner).
3. Corrected bug with ticks not turning off (thanks L.R.A. Garcia).
4. Added axes labels to the ticks and section in property list.
5. Added ability to change tick spacing.
6. Added ability to change the axes the data is applied to. Data columns
remain the same (A, B, C), but columns can be moved to any axis (for
T.P. Wagner and J. Waldrop).
7. Added ability to plot negative components! This feature may not be
working as well as we would like. In the property list under Axes
titles, position, and font, set the Normalize data between 0-100 to
False. This feature only works for data entered in the spreadsheet.
You cannot click on a diagram and input a negative number (for
T.P. Wagner).
8. Added ability to export to a transparent GIF.
9. Setup now compiled by InnoSetup 4.
10. Updated help file to new look and added help for legends.
11. Added 5-pointed star.
12. Updated spreadsheet, tab, and propertylist controls to current
versions and to better emulate Windows XP color standards.

4.0.2 (06 January 2003)
1. Updated spreadsheet and tab controls to current versions and to
better emulate Windows color standards
2. Modified the handling of program resources.
3. Updated colors to better match the lighter XP look and to change
with the system.
4. Increased the size of the data spreadsheet to 100,000 rows (for
G. Triacchini)!

4.0.1 (11 June 2001)
1. Fixed printer margin bug that would set the margins of the printer to
zero inches.

4.0 (08 April 2001)
1. Initial release of TriPlot 4.0. The Win 3.1 version of TriPlot was
completely rewritten to support Win 98, ME, NT4, and 2000.
